Chrisy Moutsatsos comes to Iowa State from the University of California-Irvine with a joint appointment in the Department of Anthropology and the Women’s Studies Program. Chrisy has taught on the anthropology and women’s studies faculty at California-Irvine, Scripps College, Chapman University and Irvine Valley Community College.

Among her honors is the Lecturer Professional Development Award from California-Irvine and the Stanley J. Seeger Visiting Research Fellowship (program in Hellenic Studies) at Princeton University.

Moutsatsos received the 2003 Modern Greek Studies Association Dissertation Prize for her dissertation entitled “Transnational Beauty Culture and Local Bodies: an Ethnographic Account of Consumption and Identity in Urban Greece.”

She is currently revising this work into a book for publication by Duke University Press.
